Full day of workshops for gardeners and homeowners: walking tour of the
new energy efficient “Unity House,” food preservation and root
cellaring, intensive raised bed gardening, and beginning gardening.
Other topics: raising backyard pigs, green funerals, attracting
pollinators, growing dahlias, dealing with major insect pests, growing
great winter squash and many more. Sponsored by University of Maine
Cooperative Extension and Waldo County Extension association as a fund
raiser to provide a scholarship to a local Waldo County student
pursuing higher education. Registration required. $20 fee includes
delicious buffet lunch provided by the Unity College dining staff.
