Join the Maine Historical Society and The Fifth Maine Regiment Museum for this
day-long workshop, designed for both museum staff and volunteers who want to
work more successfully with schools, as well as for elementary and middle
school teachers wanting to enrich their curriculum beyond school walls.
Sessions include: Local History/Local Schools: A Model Museum/School
Collaboration from Maine Historical Society; Expeditionary Learning and
Museums: Projects at KingMiddle School; Connecting Communities: The Maine
Memory Network as a Catalyst for Partnerships; Teaching with Primary Sources:
Strategies from the FifthMaineRegimentMuseum. Fee: $15 per person. Salary
contact hours will be offered to those teachers interested.
