At Story Bank, we think stories of people & their places are the most
interesting of all. Join us this summer to find out more about collecting,
documenting, and presenting these traditions at Story Bank Institute. Sponsored
by the MaineFolklifeCenter and Cultural Resources Inc., the
four day institute will train you to collect, document, and present local
stories. Each day, participants will learn fieldwork techniques, audio and
video recording, digital photography, archiving and developing public
presentations based on narratives. A team of documentary specialists and
folklorists will guide you through the ethnographic process as well as basic
documentary techniques. Workshop fees are $20 per day or $75 for the week.
Scholarships are available. Space is limited. Sponsored by the MaineArts Commission.
